Year 2 14th February Looking Back and Forth

Friday 14th February 2020 – Looking Back & Forth in Year 2

Looking back:

It has been another brilliant week in Year 2. We have reached the end of our learning about the Great Fire of London and everyone has been proud to show their knowledge. Our history topic has also led to excellent work in English, music and art and you can view some of the children’s work on the wall in our classroom.

This week the children have written and performed simile poems. We looked at all the maths we have learned so far this year and used these skills to solve reasoning problems. The children continue to enjoy voting for which story to read at the end of the day as well as choosing a favourite class book of the week.

I was impressed with their knowledge of gymnastics skills this week.

Year 2 – Pupils’ Highlights:

  • Colour mixing to make flames for our Great Fire of London display
  • Gymnastics
  • Writing poems
  • Maths all mixed up!
