Year 6 - Looking Back and Forth - Friday 11th December 2020

Y6 – Friday 11th December 2020 – Looking Back & Forth in Year 6

Looking back:

The end of term might be fast approaching, but in year 6, we are continuing with a wide range of topics in class and we have thrown in a few assessments too (just to keep the class on their toes).  We are so impressed with how they have tackled anything that we have asked them to do and we are looking forward to wrapping the topics up (a bit like Christmas presents) over the last week.

We have completed our first piece of writing in English based upon “Shackleton’s Journey” by William Grill.  Each pupil has written an amazing text, based upon their allocated crew member.  Hopefully, these will be published this week and will be available to be read and enjoyed on the gallery page from next weekend.  They are super-impressive pieces – please do take a moment to enjoy these with your child/crew member!

They have also enjoyed time completing their amazing night-lights this week.  Despite the amount of paper on the floor and glue on the tables, these are looking super and when they were sat on the window ledge, the sun shone through, lighting them up like stained glass windows.

They class has also enjoyed Christmas lunch on Thursday and Christmas jumper day on Friday – a couple of “jumper photos” are on the website.  Christmas has certainly not been cancelled at Goostrey and there are more events next week – details are below.

As we are approaching the end of term, we would like to say what a fabulous class we have – it’s has been a real joy for us to have worked with them this term and once we have all enjoyed a Merry Christmas, we are really looking forward to the Spring Term.

There is a lot of detail below regarding next week – please take a moment to check this out.

With our best wishes

The Year 6 Team.
