Year 6 - Looking Back and Forth - Friday 6th November 2020

Y6 - Friday 6th November 2020 – Looking Back & Forth in Year 6

Looking back:

A busy week of differing activities once again, here in Year 6.  There are a few photos on the gallery tab to illustrate some of the “goings on” in our class – why not have a look to see if you can spot yourselves, Year 6!  We have begun our study of the great Carnegie Hall in New York – a topic we will continue with over the coming week.  Maths has seen us strengthen our knowledge of multiples, factors, primes, squares and cubed numbers too.  Our afternoons have been filled with science and circuits; the Indus Valley and quizzes; tag rugby with Premier Sports; our reflections on the week; and lots of discussions.  Thank you for your support this week – our class enjoyed the sports session on Friday and were well “rugged up” for the colder weather.

As the weather does get a little chillier now, we are continuing to keep our classrooms ventilated with open windows.  Each day, we are aiming to keep our classroom at a suitable temperature, whilst letting the fresh air flow (accompanied by our air purifier – thank you again for this).  We would suggest that our pupils might like to wear an extra layer under their school uniform – vests or t-shirts perhaps – so that they are comfortable.  In addition, many are coming back from break times with cold hands and we have suggested the pop a pair of gloves in their pockets – these will complement the brightly coloured hats we are enjoying at the moment.  They’ve started a cracking trend and perhaps these will come in very handy for the Year 6 hat study, later in the year.

We are looking forward to chatting with you in the coming week for our “parents’ meetings”.  We are only saddened that these cannot take place face-to-face, but we hope that it will be a good way to catch up with families during this busy term.

Well done on another super week, Year 6.  Here’s to another one coming up, next week.
