Year 6 - Looking Back and Forth - Friday 7th February 2020

Y6 - Friday 7th February 2020 – Looking Back & Forth in Year 6

Looking back:

What a musical week once more – lots of singing in class and practising for our excellent concert on Thursday.  Thank you to all who were able to attend – or who have bought CDs.  It was a great culmination of days of singing practice and something which the pupils will remember.  Thank you to Mrs. Benson for organising this great concert – her last event with us at Goostrey.

Back in class, we have spent the week learning all about one of the New York buildings which features in “The Good Thieves” – Carnegie Hall.  Our pupils now have a wealth of knowledge about this building and we have enjoyed listening to music and watching silent films from the 1920s – please do ask your children about this – they have worked really hard on this piece of work.  Imperial and metric measures have featured in our data lessons and we are looking to remember some key equivalents between the two systems.  The pupils continue to deepen their knowledge of ancient Britain and have enjoyed some very athletic PE sessions.

Letters issued Y6:

  3. We shall be saying “goodbye” to Mrs. Benson on Thursday as she will be leaving us after sixteen years at Goostrey.
