Yr 4 Looking Back and Forth 26th March

Friday 26th March – Looking Back & Forth in Year 4

Looking back:

This week, the children have continued their English work on the book Leaf by Sandra Dieckmann.   We also explored another outsider narrative called the White Fox by Jackie Morris.

We had a great session with the Premier coaches again. Sadly the weather let us down, but we had great fun playing invasion games in the hall.

We explored food chains this week.  We also began our new science topic on electricity and looked at the electrical appliances that we use everyday.  We were quite astonished by how many electrical appliances we use on an average day.

In maths, we looked at unit and non-unit fractions in maths.

Questions to ask at home

  • Can you tell me the story so far of the white fox?
  • What is an appliance?
  • What is a unit fraction?
  • What is a non-unit fraction?
  • What is an Outsider Narrative?
  • Who is Zhou Zhou?

Highlights of the Week

  • English our Leaf writing
  • Football with friends
  • PE with the Premier Coaches
  • Writing stories
  • Electricity work and food chains work in science
  • Being together in class
