Looking back:
Well done year 2 another great week! The adults have noticed the great vocabulary you have used and the effort you have put into your learning. This week, we have investigated a mystery habitat and met the ‘Bog Baby’.
In Maths, we have looked at the different ways that the same number can be represented.
We have discussed what a hero is and how we think our heroes act.
Year 2 – Pupils’ Highlights:
- I enjoyed doing maths because I’ve been making numbers with tens and ones x9 chn
- My highlight was finding out about the Bog Baby because it made me feel joyful and calm x3
- I liked maths because it made me happy x3
- I liked everything this week! X3
- I liked talking about our heroes.
- I liked talking about being safe online.
Family discussion questions:
- Discuss any numbers that you see when you are at home or out and about. Are they in numerals or words or represented in a different way?
- Discuss what being a hero means to you with your child.
Looking forward:
- Place value work in maths- recognising tens and ones and using a place value chart
- Exhibition work- start talking about children who are heroes
Reminders
- PE will is onFridays. Please ensure school PE kit is worn.
- Reading books will be changed on Mondays. The reading folder is needed in school every day. Thank you.
- Harvest Assembly on Wednesday
Reading books should be brought into school every day. Children’s books will be changed weekly.
Please continue to read every night as this underpins so much learning in Year 2. For every consecutive 14 days of reading the children will receive 10 house points and see their face on the ‘Reading Challenge Wall of Fame’. Please record this in reading diaries so I can track their progress
