20th Sept Year 3 Looking Back and Forth
Friday 20th September 2019 – Looking Back & Forth in Year 3
Looking back:
We have enjoyed our week together this week and we are beginning to feel like proper Year Threes now! We have found out much more about the UK and have created our own version of our map. We have continued to follow George’s journey through to the day his Ferris Wheel stunned everyone at the 1893 World Fair and have built our skills placing numbers up to 1000. We have also enjoyed music lessons and PE so we are well and truly into the swing of things!
Year 3 – Pupils’ Highlights:
- We have really enjoyed reading time this week and we’re ready to find out why the boy is blue…
- RE and Science with Mrs Benson were great as was Geography with Mrs Saxton. We loved piecing together the map of the UK and testing rocks using sweets!
- We’re always keen to find out who will be Star of the Day!
- Getting better and better at Netball
Family discussion questions:
Ask your children…
- about Percy Parker and how he can help.
- What they have learned about rocks and what do Christians believe God is like.
Looking forward:
Next week, we will be continuing to learn our 2 and 3 times tables and will be counting in 50s. We will be introduced to a brand new book in English and will discover just what the ‘magnificent thing’ was. History will help us to learn more about some of the inventors we now know and we will be researching their lives and the effect of their work on modern times. We will be having our first match in Netball too!
