Important Covid-19 Update
Dear Parents,
As you know the government’s intention is for Reception, Year 1 and Year 6 to return to school in June. Their target was 1st June.
Cheshire East Council met yesterday to consider how the phased approach, to the wider opening of schools, will look for our county. Based on various view points and evidence specific to Cheshire East’s circumstances, within the country, they have made a blanket decision for all their schools.
The attached letter sets out these arrangements and you will see that although R, Y1 and Y6 will return in June they will not all be returning on the 1st. I realise this is different to what we had initially planned for at Goostrey and some families will be disappointed while others may be relieved to have the extra time. We will be emailing families in R, Y1 and Y6 again in June to get an updated indication of which children will be likely to attend on their due date.
Next week is half term and remote learning will resume on June 1st for all classes and will continue until the class returns to school.
Cheshire East will be monitoring and re-assessing the situation over the next few weeks.
Kind regards,
Miss Atkins

Children of Key Workers Vulnerable Groups* All eligible nursery aged pupils welcome but places limited based on space and staffing capacity. (See above prioritisation) All Reception pupils and All Year 1 pupils and Year 6 pupils from Monday 29th – where the school still has enough space to do so with social distancing in place. This may vary between schools due to constraints of school buildings and staffing capacity. Schools should however as a minimum offer sessions to allow pupils to say goodbye, celebrate their achievements and support them in planning for transition |
At this point we do not envisage a full return of all year groups by the end of the summer term. |
