Looking Back and Forth 11th October 2024
Y2 Friday 11th October 2024– Looking Back & Forth
Looking back:
This week we have written biographies about two famous young people who achieved amazing things! In maths, we have been learning to count in 2s, 5s and 10s. In science, we investigated how different types of exercise made us feel. We have also been lucky enough to work with an artist on a sculpture for Exhibition.
Year 2 – Pupils’ Highlights:
- I really enjoyed writing about Sky Brown x 12 chn
- I liked doing the exercises in science x 6 chn
- My highlight of the week was learning about our ‘digital footprint’ in computing x2 chn
- I liked working with the artist x 12 chn
- I liked writing about Louis Braille x 5 chn
Family discussion questions:
- This week we discussed famous landmarks in England, for example Scafell Pike and the Etihad Stadium. Discuss any other famous geographical features you have visited as a family.
Looking forward:
Next week we will be publishing our writing and rehearsing our singing in preparation for Exhibition. In maths, we will be exploring addition and subtraction.
Reminders
Reading books will be changed on Mondays. The reading folder is needed in school every day. Thank you.
PE is on Fridays. Please ensure school PE kit is worn.
Reading books should be brought into school every day. Children’s books will be changed weekly.
Please continue to read every night as this underpins so much learning in Year 2. For every consecutive 14 days of reading, children will receive 10 house points and see their face on the ‘Reading Challenge Wall of Fame’. Well done to the 5 children who completed the challenge this week for the 3rd time!!!
Please record this in reading diaries so we can track their progress.
Thank you for your support,
Mr Warhurst
