Looking Back and Forth 18.11.24
Y2 Friday 15th November 2024– Looking Back & Forth
Looking back: This week we have continued to explore our text The River, discussed and ordered the events in circular narratives and used conjunctions to extend sentences. In maths, we have been learning to use our knowledge of number bonds to 10 to add three numbers. We have also discussed the significance of Remembrance Day.
Year 2 – Pupils’ Highlights:
- I enjoyed reading The First Slodge.
- I enjoyed learning songs for the Christmas Show x12
- I have enjoyed learning about circular narratives. X 9 chn
- I liked using my number bonds to 10 to add 3 numbers x3 chn
- I liked learning about the mountains in Wales.
Family discussion questions:
- In history we have been learning about different types of homes through history. When you are out and about can you spot any modern and older houses? How are they the same and different?
Looking forward:
- Next week we will analyse the language features of a circular narrative, continue learning addition and subtract strategies and will have two extra special activities!

PE is on TUESDAYS! Please ensure school PE kit is worn.
Reading books are changed on Mondays. The reading folder is needed in school every day. Thank you.
Please continue to read every night as this underpins so much learning in Year 2. For every consecutive 14 days of reading the children will receive 10 house points and see their face on the ‘Reading Challenge Wall of Fame’.
Please record this in reading diaries so we can track their progress.
