Y2 Friday 18th October 2024– Looking Back & Forth

Looking back: 

In maths, we have been exploring addition and subtraction and finding fact families.  In science, we discussed our favourite snacks and which healthy snack choices we can make. We have also published writing for Exhibition and continued learning songs to perform next week.

Year 2 – Pupils’ Highlights:

• I enjoyed learning about healthy snacks. X 2 chn
• I enjoyed learning about famous landmarks in Scotland. X 2 chn
• I liked doing maths- using the part- whole model.
• I have enjoyed learning the songs for Exhibition. X 15 chn
• I enjoyed creating my art piece for Exhibition.

Family discussion questions:

Discuss with your child what they are looking forward to at our school Exhibition. Which heroes and leaders might they find out about when they visit?

Looking forward:

Its Exhibition time!!  We will be visiting the Exhibition to look at all the amazing work from across the school. We will also be performing in the Junior Playground at 2.30pm on Wednesday and Thursday.

Reminders

Reading books will be changed on Mondays. The reading folder is needed in school every day. Thank you.

Reading books should be brought into school every day. Children’s books will be changed weekly.

Please continue to read every night as this underpins so much learning in Year 2. For every consecutive 14 days of reading, children will receive 10 house points and see their face on the ‘Reading Challenge Wall of Fame’.

Please record this in reading diaries so we can track their progress.
