Y2 Friday 20th September 2023– Looking Back & Forth

Looking back: 

In Maths, we have investigated  the various ways we can partition numbers using place value charts and part whole models.  

In English, we have acted out part of a story and used vocabulary from the Bog Baby.

Year 2 – Pupils’ Highlights:

• I have enjoyed learning about safe searches in Computing. X5
• I liked maths when we used place value charts.
• I liked PE because we played fun games. X3
• I liked doing arithmetic in maths x2
• I liked talking about heroes and leaders.x3
• I liked acting out the story of the Bog Baby.

Family Discussion Points

We have discussed leaders we know this week including our Prime Minister, Harry Kane and Miss Atkins. As a family discuss what you thinks makes a good leader and talk to your child about leaders that inspire you. 

Looking forward:

• Exhibition work- learning about children who changed the world
• Next week we will use a number line develop our understanding of place value. 

Reminders

PE is on Fridays. Please ensure school PE kit is worn.

Reading books will be changed on Mondays. The reading folder is needed in school every day. Thank you.

Please continue to read every night as this underpins so much learning in Year 2. For every consecutive 14 days of reading the children will receive 10 house points and see their face on the ‘Reading Challenge Wall of Fame’. (We should have our first children on the wall of frame this week! ) Please record this in reading diaries so I can track their progress
