Y2 Friday 25th October 2024– Looking Back & Forth
Looking back: What a busy week! This week we have heard about the work of a real-life hero from the Cheshire Fire Service. We have performed songs to parents and other adults and we also visited the school Exhibition to admire all the amazing work from across the school.
Year 2 – Pupils’ Highlights:
- I have enjoyed doing things for the Exhibition
- I enjoyed the visiting the Exhibition and eating cakes x 17 chn
- I enjoyed the pizza! X 19chn
- I enjoyed finding related facts in maths x2
- I enjoyed designing a skateboard x 2
- I enjoyed publishing my biography
- I liked writing my poem in the speech bubble
- I enjoyed art this week
Family discussion questions:
- Discuss what your child enjoyed about the Exhibition.
- Discuss what your child feels proud of this half term- is there a piece of work they feel particularly pleased with?
Looking forward:
Next half term we will be exploring a 'journey narrative' as a whole class during English lessons. In maths, we will be starting to learn different strategies for addition and subtraction. In science, we will begin to investigate the properties of materials and in history we will look at how houses have changed overtime.
Reminders
PE will be on now be on TUESDAYS! Please ensure school PE kit is worn.
Reading books are changed on Mondays. The reading folder is needed in school every day. Thank you.
Please continue to read every night as this underpins so much learning in Year 2. For every consecutive 14 days of reading the children will receive 10 house points and see their face on the ‘Reading Challenge Wall of Fame’. (Well done to 4 children who completed the challenge for the fourth time this week !!!!) Please record this in reading diaries so we can track their progress.
Thank you for your continued support,
Mr Warhurst
