Y2 Friday 29th November 2024 Looking Back & Forth
Looking back: This week we had an amazing time at Forest School making a wattle and daub wall! We have begun to use exchanging for subtraction in maths and have also been rehearsing lots for our Christmas production!
Year 2 – Pupils’ Highlights:
- I enjoyed roasting marshmallows on a fire x 17 chn
- I have enjoyed rehearsing the nativity x 11 chn
- I liked making a wattle and daub wall for a roundhouse x 3
- I liked learning about Tudor houses x 3
- I liked planning my circular narrative x2
- I liked used a dragon sneeze to make a spark for our fire
Family discussion questions:
- Ask you child how to make a wattle and daub wall. Can they tell you the interesting ingredient?
- Please help your child learn their lines for the nativity
Looking forward: Next week we will continue to rehearse for our production, find out about Victorian houses and write our circular narratives.
Reminders
- Christmas Jumper Day Wednesday 4th December.
- Christmas Shop- please send money in a named envelope or purse, with a list of who is being bought for and a named bag by Monday 9th December ready for our visit to the Christmas Shop during that week.
- Christmas Dinner day Thursday 13th December.
PE is on TUESDAYS! Please ensure school PE kit is worn.
Reading books are changed on Mondays. The reading folder is needed in school every day. Thank you.
Please continue to read every night as this underpins so much learning in Year 2. For every consecutive 14 days of reading the children will receive 10 house points and see their face on the ‘Reading Challenge Wall of Fame’.
Please record any reading at home in reading diaries so we can track their progress.
