Looking Back and Forth Friday 3rd December 2021

Friday 3rdth December – Looking Back & Forth in Year 4

Looking back: This week, the children began to write their explanatory texts for the water cycle.  It has been great getting to grips with the scientific vocabulary.

In maths, we began some new work on perimeter in shapes.  We had many discussions about the difference between rectangles and oblongs.

This week, the children have worked hard in gymnastics and explored more changes in state work in science. A particularly popular lesson seemed to be melting the chocolate lesson!

Building On

  • Maths work from Year 3 – lots of work on area
  • Changing state work in science currently in the mornings in English and in science.
  • Changing state – building on the science work on materials in KS1
  • Gymnastics - from previous years balancing and creating sequences of movement

Questions to ask at home

  • What is precipitation?
  • What is accumulation?
  • What is transpiration?
  • What is evaporation?
  • What is condensation?

Watch this video – it is a lot of fun and has helped with our learning.
