Looking Back and Forth in Year 3
Friday 11th October 2019 – Looking Back & Forth in Year 3
Looking back:
We have had a very creative week this week as the children have enjoyed getting involved in sketching, upsizing and becoming poets. The whole class have worked very hard to adapt their writing style to fit the composition of a poem and have learned more about the benefits of editing and resilience – well done everyone!
Year 3 – Pupils’ Highlights:
- Sketching out our buildings and landscapes in the style of an illustrator.
- All of our Art lessons.
- Writing poems all about the Chicago World Fair.
- Learning how to write a biography
- Using Atlas books to find places in England.
- Finishing off our History Timeline
- Drawing what we thought God was like.
- Setting up our experiment in Science.
- Our second Computing lesson.
Family discussion questions:
Ask your children…
- What is a prototype?
- What is the difference between the way a poem is written and the style of a story?
- What experiment did we set up in Science?
Looking forward:
Next week, we have another exciting week as we welcome a new professional artist into school to work with us - all about Robots! We will be working very hard on creating all of our exhibits for our showcase the following week and will be honing our performance skills in rehearsals for our song and performance poetry. Should be a great week!
Just a little reminder – any broken things for the Artist Session next week will need to be in by Monday please ~ thank you.
