Looking Back & Forth in Year 3
This week in Y3
Looking back:
The children have begun to settle in now and are getting used to our routine in Year 3, as am I. They have spent time with all the teachers they will be working with again, including their French teacher Mrs Jones who was very enthusiastic to join our team. We have worked hard to write a diary entry and to develop our knowledge of place value, alongside beginning to investigate Great British Inventors and rocks!
Year 3 – Pupils’ Highlights:
- We have loved English this week because we love writing!
- We are excited about Star Of The Day!
- Sharing our book Rabbit Not Lost was great!
- We have enjoyed some of the funny times we’ve had too!
- Our Science lesson with Mrs Benson was great - finding out about rocks and we loved our first French lesson!
Family discussion questions:
Ask your children…
- To show you how to represent numbers using three different methods.
- To tell you what a prefix and suffix is.
Looking forward:
Next week, we will be busy learning a new times table and continuing to problem solve using place value. We will be hearing more about George Ferris in English and will be finding out if his wheel was a success. History will be all about who invented what and when and what difference they made to life today and RE and Geography will be expanding their minds to cover Islam, Judaism and more about the UK…lots to look forward to!
