Reception 28th February Looking back and forth
Friday 28th February- Looking Back and Forth in Reception
Looking Back – what have we enjoyed this week:
This week I introduced the new topic for the term. It is the Underground. The topic was perfectly started by the discovery of a bucketful of dinosaurs left outside the back entrance of school. We were sure it was Harry’s so we all wrote him a letter. Sure enough his reply arrived today and the bucket was his. He had left it after attending a party in the hall. Well this all got us thinking about dinosaur fossils so we started making our own. The children also said how much they have enjoyed playing this week and how good it was to get outside. In maths we started subtraction formally. The class are also very excited about grandparents’ tea party. I am awaiting a few more return slips with grandparents’ names.
Looking forward
Next week we will be looking at caves and continuing with subtraction and addition. On Thursday you are most welcome to view your child’s books in the class from 3:15 to 5pm. Please also see the newsletter to make sure you book your parent appointment for the 10th or 12th of March.
Questions you could discuss at home:
Do you have anything interesting to put into our underground museum?
