Reception Friday 11th October Looking back and forth
Friday 4th October 2019- Looking Back and Forth in Reception
Looking Back
This past week we have focused on making our robots for the exhibition and I have to say if only they were the real thing I would never have to lift a finger again. I would even have a robot that makes my jewellery.
Every day we have worked on our phonics and on writing the letters L,H,N,I and T. So tips for helping them remember how to write them are so far: t- you slide down the slide and mummy/daddy open their arms, h – the rabbit runs down the hill and hops into the hole (don’t lift your pencil), n – it is a shorter run down the hill. They seem to manage l and i well, I just stress to them to start at the top and try do a straight line and no footballs on the i.
We have worked on numbers this week, some children are still learning to recognise numbers and match objects to numbers. Some children know their numbers well but cannot accurately match objects to them. Some children worked on addition this week.
We had a lovely buddy session this afternoon which was very active with lots of happy children playing hide and seek, drawing, playing football, building train tracks.....
Looking forward
