Reception Friday 18 October 2019 Looking back and forth
Friday 18th October 2019- Looking Back and Forth in Reception
Looking Back
Another fun week completed. We have learnt our song for the exhibition and will be performing to you all on Thursday at 2:45pm. Please invite extended family as all are welcome. This will be on the junior side of the school. The children have learnt new sounds this week and I updated pot on Tuesday. We have also been focusing on writing numbers correctly and worked on 2 this week for those who were finding it tricky. I drew a triangle (depicting a mountain) on the board and said there was a skier who went over the mountain, skied down the hill then walked into the café for two hot chocolates. Hope this makes sense! I drew a little café next to the triangle. Let’s see if they can do that at home. We have been counting and looking at what number comes before and after a given number. Also what is one more and one less. The children did PE with Mrs Saxton on Wednesday morning and they did the lesson based on the Gigantic Turnip. They made salt dough robots with Mrs Raven so look out for these at the performance. It was bike Friday today so with the lovely weather this morning many of them were out on the playground. This morning we had a fabulous visit from “Ralph the robot” with Iona’s dad Rob. The children got to see a real robot at work. I am sure you are looking forward to seeing their fabulous robots next week.
Looking forward
Next week the children will have a session with Andy from The Cheshire Dining Experience. He will be inventing new recipes with them. Hope they are edible!
The exhibition is on the 23rd and 24th October. It officially opens at 2pm on the Wednesday. Our class will be performing on the Thursday at 2:45pm. The children will have their work displayed too. We are going to be making robots. There is a café so when you come and look around make sure you bring some money for a cup of tea and cake. All the money is going towards funding the flights for our twin school pupils to visit us next year.
