Reception looking back and forth Friday 13th November 2020
Hello all
This week has flown by and we have enjoyed learning about Diwali. I told the story of Rama and Sita which is the story of how good overcomes evil in the Hindu religion. The children then based their writing and drawing on this story with them each choosing their favourite part. Most of them chose to draw the bit about Rama the prince killing the 10 headed god called Ravana, with his bow and arrow and saving Sita. All very exciting!
We also made diva lamps with clay and these are now drying in the boiler room and we will paint and decorate them next week. The children have brought home their Divali lamps (2D) today. We have been looking at 2D so part of Divali was telling them about Rangoli patterns. They have all coloured in a pattern and we did some chalk patterns outside too.
We are also learning our Christmas song for the Christmas CD and this is “Frosty the Snowman”. I am hoping that some of the children are singing the first few verses at home to you?
The weather has been super and we have explored the wood, collected more sticks and seed pods and enjoyed running around the track. Every day is an adventure for us all and the children seem incredibly happy and settled this half term.
Have a lovely weekend!
