Reception Looking back and forth week ending 1 April 2022
Friday 1 April 2022- Looking Back and Forth in Reception
Looking Back – what we have done this week
On Monday we heard the story Glub about a fish called Lucky who is lost in the pipes under the sink. This linked in well to our learning about Utilities underground. The children then wrote about Lucky’s feeling about getting lost in the pipes and eventually getting out. Their writing is coming on so well and I could not be prouder.
In maths they did a great sorting activity for capacity and explored the language more. They did so well on this, and Mrs Raven said everyone got a double tick!
We watched Aunty Mable as she does a great video about sewage and learnt about all utilities.
In PE they learnt to do sausage rolls and forward rolls.
On Wednesday they made crispy Easter cakes and decorated their baskets which you will now have seen.
On Thursday morning is Phonics they did an Easter egg phonics hunt. If they could read the sound hidden in the egg they could eat the chocolate. Great motivation!
On Thursday afternoon the Easter Bunny visited and they had Hot Cross buns. Mrs Hughes explained why there was a cross on the buns.
Today we got the bikes out and have played with play dough. As I type this they are in whole school assembly and soon it will be buddy time!
Have a lovely Easter break!
Looking forward to next term’s learning:
Our topic is All around me!
