Reception looking back and forth week ending 22 April 2022
Friday 22 April 2022- Looking Back and Forth in Reception
Looking Back – what we have done this week
Gosh this four-day week has raced by and we have packed a lot into it. We started our new topic for the term by going on a walk to the junior site. Our objective was to come back to class and draw a map of how to get to the juniors. We found out that a person who creates a map is called cartographer and that is what we were this week! They labelled their maps and these came in handy for our visitor on Thursday who needed to get to the juniors
In phonics we learnt the igh sound.
In maths we focussed on counting forwards and backwards and knowing the number before and after.
We have set up a vet in the classroom and all patients are been well attended too and cared for.
In Music we learnt to play three notes on the Ocarina – Daddy D, Mummy A and Baby D. Mrs Sant, Year 3 teacher and Music co-ordinator, came to watch us and for a first lesson I think we did ourselves proud.
In PE they learnt ball rolling skills and control.
We looked at landmarks in Goostrey and one special place isto go for a walk through The Bongs. If you don’t know about it please ask.
Half the class went bug hunting on Wednesday afternoon while the other half did detailed drawings of bugs using the visualiser on the white board.
Please make sure you send in the house homework for Monday.
Looking forward to next week’s learning:
We will be writing letters and learning about different houses.
