Reception looking back and forth week ending 3 July 2022
Hello all
Our week ending with a lovely day on Friday. Goostrey pre-school came over for a visit and your children were the perfect hosts. They looked after the younger ones so well. It was a little heartsore for me as it means soon they will be moving to Year 1. I gave them each a house point and we chatted about how they would be in Year 1 when the new children arrived. They all seem very excited about the move up.
Ms Cummins will be writing with a group of reception children in Year 1 each day this coming week as part of our transition process. The children will also each get a Year 1 transition booklet for them to look at over the summer.
In PE on Friday they did some Sport's Day preperation. Javelin and hoops then sack races and running. We look forward to seeing you all at 1:15pm on Tuesday! All family members are welcome.
In maths this week we did number bonds of 10 and we used their fingers to make the bonds. Some children know them and some don't so it is just a matter of repetition repetition.
In literacy we finished the writing on Storm Whale. Next week they will be writing with Ms Cummins and it will be around air transport.
Next week.
Tuesday Sport's Day at 1:15pm if it is not rained off and then reserve day is Friday at 1:15pm
Writing with Ms Cummins.
I will be going through their word and sound pots and getting them updated for you to revise over the summer holidays. It would be really good if you could keep up with their reading over the summer and if you ask at the Library they will give you books from their book band colour.
