Reception looking back and forth week ending Friday 10 December 21

Hello all after a very busy week!

Thank you for all your support this week in getting Christmas shop money in, Jumper Day sorted, Elf Run sponsored and Christmas concert outfits sent in. 

We are looking forward to welcoming you to the concert on Tuesday. Please don't forget to wear a mask and do a lateral flow test before you come. The concert is in the Village Hall so you will need to enter the hall from the playground side so please walk past the Village Hall entrance and keep going. I will put signage out. 

This week we have spent time getting ready for the concert with lots of singing and good listening. Then today we performed it to Year 3 class who were suitably impressed and excited to be with us. 

In Maths we learnt 3 D shape names: cube, cuboid, cone, cylinder and sphere. We will do more work on these after Christmas. It used a lot of christmas present references of present shapes. 

The children did the Elf Run with their buddies this afternoon and as I am sure you noticed got a bit muddy. They all got an elf hat and a tub of porridge. 

We have also been preparing lots of craft activities for next week doing what we call stage one - like painting base colours. Please could I ask you to send in a carrier bag on Thursday (I will remind you) so they can bring all their goodies home on Friday. We are planning a very craft based week. 

The children are doing so well in PE with their Gymnastics. Their confidence and progress is really very good.
