Reception Looking back and forth week ending Friday 13th May
Looking back:
This week in literacy they have started to write their imaginary stories using the magic beans. The children have really been hooked into the story telling and using their imagination. When they needed more inspiration they held their bean and closed their eyes and let their imagination take over. It has been very sweet to watch how much they have been enchanted by the magic of the beans.
In maths we have worked on addition and subtraction using a dice to make number sentences. In whole class maths we continue to do problem solving.
Our visit to St Luke's was great and the Noah's Ark display was lovely. The children enjoyed the freedom of just exploring the church, looking at the kneelers (cushions), seeing the organ pipes, touching the font, sitting in the pews and and and... We walked back through the graveyard so they could see the flowers and gravestones. They could read some of the names and had a look at the mementos left by friends and family.
What the children said they enjoyed this week: playing on the field, riding the bikes, seeing their buddies, writing their stories, doing phonics especially bingo and lunch!
Next week:
We will continue writing our stories and will be doing shape and measure in Maths.
