Reception Looking back and forth

Friday 5th November 2021- Looking Back and Forth in Reception

Looking Back – what we have done this week

Well the children absolutely loved the story of the Gunpowder Plot! We acted it out and as you all know we used the boxes to build the House of Parliament. We left them too it and they did a super job of taping the boxes together, drawing people to go inside, making fireworks to decorate it and drawing 4 clocks for Big Ben. Today our Houses of Parliament have collapsed in the wet air and now looks more like a bonfire. We also made firework pictures using lots of sparkly glue.

The writing this week was to write a few words about Guy Fawkes and the plot. They are using their phonics well and trying hard to form their letters correctly. We get them to draw a little picture to go with their writing.

In maths we have been looking at 2D shape names.

We have put up their buddy balloons in the class. These look fantastic! You might need to come and have a peek!

The children enjoyed their first gymnastics lesson and used lots of equipment like the balance beam and the spring board.

Looking forward

We are going to learn about the Hindu Festival of Light - Divali.
