Reception update week ending 4th November 2022

Hello all

This week we have learnt all about Guy Fawkes and the Gunpowder plot. I told the children the story and they also acted out some bits. I think quite a few of them came home with crowns so hopefully they told you the story of why we celebrate bonfire night. They all drew a picture and wrote something about the story in their English work books. Their handwriting is looking good as we continue to work on letter formation. However some battled with "s" this week. 

In maths we are working on number bonds to 10 using the buddy blocks.

On Tuesday afternoon they did gymnastics in the village hall. They enjoyed the session with the new coach.

On Friday during buddy time half the class stayed to play in the class with their buddies and I took the other half of the class across the road to the Year 6 class for them to have time together doing games and colouring. 

Next week we are learning about Diwali and 2 D shapes.
