Reception update week ending Friday 7th July

Reception news

Another busy week with pre-school visitiors popping in for a play. The Reception children were super hosts!

This week we have written sentences about travel by aeroplane and they wrote these mostly independently. In maths we have worked on problem solving and bonds of 10. 

I have put the children into reading groups or pairs to give them a flavour of how they will be reading in Year 1. They stepped up to the challenge well! 

Next week as part of transition they will be going into year 1 in small groups to do some writing with Ms Cummins.

Ms.Cummins will be getting married over the summer so she will be Mrs Carew.

This coming week we have a pirate week planned with lots of fun activities. I will be reading with the children so please do send in their reading folders.
