Reception weekly update Friday 4th October

Hello all

Thank you for a lovely evening on Thursday. I think we tired the children out so much that we had a few emotional moments today, Friday. Hopefully they can have a relaxing weekend.

On Monday evening I am hosting the phonics information evening at 5pm. I hope not to keep you for too long.

On Monday the children can wear yellow and blue colour clothes or a rugby jersey in exchange for a donation towards Motor Neurone Disease Association. More info is in the newsletter and I know Mrs Timmins (Year 6) has send an email reminder too. I shall be wearing my SA rugby jersey!

The children met their buddy today and their buddy has made a booklet about themselves as an introduction which should be in their bag. They had a play afterwards and it was super to see them all so happy.

This week we have learnt about firefighters and how they help us. We have painted more pictures for our display and finished our clay house. The houses are now drying ready for painting next week. These will be on display at the exhibition.

We started number formation sheets this week having now finished listening to the 10 number stories. The children used number fans on Thursday with Mrs Saxton.

We are working at hearing initial sounds in words and this has been a writing focus this week.

Just a reminder if you haven't already - please could you pay for the picnic tea.

Have a good weekend

Mrs Flint
