Reception weekly update week ending 1 March 2024

Hello

Our theme has been the school environment and we took a walk to the juniors on Monday morning and took note of the things we passed on our way. Our task was then to draw a map. This is a tricky exersise but my goodness they did well. You will see these in their books on Tuesday. 

We have been working on problem solving in Maths. I usually tell them a number problem in a story and they draw it out on their whiteboards or find their way to work out the answer. They all seem to really enjoy this task.

Today in music we listened and played instruments along to some country music. We also adapted the Macarena moves to fit the song. Cotton Eye Joe and a few others. 

On Thursday 7th and Friday 8th March I will be away on Residential with Year 4. Mrs Raven and Mrs Hughes will be with the children. I will still be contactable via email. 

Things to remember this coming week: 

Monday: Mother's Day shop. We are shopping on Monday afternoon so don't forget to send in the money

               Book parent evening appointments for week beginning 11th March 

Tuesday: PE 

Wednesday: Free dress down day for Lovell - Blue House

Thursday: World Book Day

Friday: Film Night
