Reception weekly update week ending 10th May 2024

Hi all

This week we started by reading the story of Eddie's Garden and how to grow plants. We then all planted a bean and we hope to make a bean den like the one in the book. 

We have spent a lot of time outside this week and been quite busy in the garden. The children helped to dig a trench for the sunflower seeding and we filled it with school made compost. This was a big task but they really got into it and as you can imagine lots of excitment at the amount of worms.

They have loved building dens and camping sites around the playground. We have to get everything possible out for them to use as covers and walls.

They labelled a sunflower as their writing task this week. 

The most exciting thing this week (if they could have any more excitment) was making fossils. They will bring these home at the end of this half term.
