Reception weekly update
Happy weekend all.
This week the children have been getting work done for the exhibition. They are all making a clay mushroom for the display and they are drawing inspiration from the fungi we are finding in the woods.
They have also made a hot air balloon for the birthday and buddy display board.
In phonics we are blending and segmenting with the sounds we have learnt. The information sheets are in their bags which came home on Thursday. We are also learning how to correctly form the letters.
They now each have a carpet place and a going home place which they are remembering so well.
Bike Friday is a hit and they have already mastered the art of managing the sand timer and getting their names down on the board for their turn on the blue bike.
They had a play with the Year 6 class on Friday and seemed to really enjoy meeting the older children. Next week I will give them their buddy and the Year 6 child will send home a buddy book all about themselves.
The children went into full school assembly on Friday and Miss Atkins was so impressed with them as was I. Perfect behaviour!
