we 21st April Year 1

Hi All,

In English we will be carrying on with the superheroes topic. This week we will be continuing with our Traction man adventure and writing our own versions.

In maths this week, the children will continue to work on number and place value. We will be counting in 10s forwards and backwards as well as from different starting points.

In the afternoons the children will have Religious Education, Science and topic work. There will also be P.E. lessons and Show and Tell Friday!

Our highlights of Jodrell Bank:

• Going to the shop and buying a space ship on a launcher
• Looking at the Bernard Lovell plants in the Arboretum
• The bus journey
• The planetarium
• The workshops were brilliant – destination space
• I learnt the order of the planets
• I learnt what the planets look like close up

PE kits needed this week

Address and 'd' sheets and Maths homework sheets for Friday.

Double check your child’s footwear for P.E. – make sure they’re the correct size

Don’t forget the reading challenge – so far we have had lots of children taking the challenge. Remember it has to be 14 days consecutive reading at home.
