WE 13th January Year 1
Hi All,
In Literacy this week we will continuing our unit traditional stories and fairy tales. This week we will be looking at different examples of stories, creating puppet shows, reading tales and looking specifically at Jack and the beanstalk.
In maths we will continue with our topic on subtraction. Looking at how to subtract or take away. How subtraction undoes addition and using subtraction in problem solving. With Mrs Saxton the children will continue to look at directional language (They have probably told you about their cha cha slide!).
In the afternoons the children will have Religious Education and Music on Monday. Followed by lots of lesson about ‘materials’ in science. Exploring materials and their properties.

Homework sheets to be handed in on Friday.
Don’t forget the reading challenge – so far we have had lots of children taking the challenge. Remember it has to be 14 days consecutive reading at home.
