we 28th April Year 1
Hi All,
In English we will be starting a new topic on stories with repeating patterns. Last week the children worked hard on their Traction man stories – it was great to see them really concentrating on producing fantastic stories.
In maths this week, the children will be starting a number addition and subtraction topic, looking at quick skills of making 6, 8 and 9. We will also be revisiting doubling (hence the challenge work on the back of the homework sheet).
In the afternoons the children will have Religious Education, Science and topic work. There will also be P.E. lessons and Show and Tell Friday!
Our highlights of the week:
- I have enjoyed having a new baby sister (I bet you can’t guess who that was?)
- I loved writing my Traction Man story
- I liked learning about plants with Mrs Saxton
- I enjoyed playing ‘animal dominoes’ with Mrs McCourt
- I liked learning about the continents of the world
Remember
PE kits needed this week
Maths homework sheets for Friday.
Don’t forget the reading challenge – so far we have had lots of children taking the challenge. Remember it has to be 14 days consecutive reading at home.
