we 7th October in Year 1
Hi All,
The Exhibition is not too far away now.
This week we are going to continue with our Literacy topic about ‘Lists, Captions and Labels’. We have begun our work on the Tin Forest in earnest now. We are still focusing on creating descriptive sentences. As well as sequencing the story – see if your child can tell you the story so far…
In maths we will continue with our work on Counting and Place Value. We are looking at teen numbers and understanding the place value (tens and units).
In the afternoons continue with the topic ‘Our Body’ in science, we will be exploring our senses.
Also looking at old toys, thank you to all the parents who have already brought in fantastic old toys. Thank you to Mrs Sharples for sharing her fantastic toys.
Highlights the week by the children-
- Everything!
- Making my mouse
- The Tin Forest writing
- Dough disco – it’s great!
- Looking at old toys
- Working with the sports coaches in P.E.
Don’t forget the reading challenge – so far we have had lots of children taking the challenge. Remember it has to be 14 days consecutive reading at home.
