Y1 Friday 15th July 2022– Looking Back & Forth
Looking back:
What a lovely Transition Week we have had. We took Reception on a walk to The Bongs and hunted for aliens- we did a fantastic job. We then hunted for flowers, plants, insects and invertebrates before enjoying a delicious ice cream courtesy of Mrs Mottershead.
We have made many wonderful Art and D&T creations this week- spending time in the Infant classrooms and spending time with Mrs Freeman and Mrs Hughes. You will love the alien creations the children have made.
We have consolidated our learning by competing quizzes this week too.
Year 1 – Pupils’ Highlights:
√ Walking to The Bongs with Reception.
√ Creating lots of alien inspired art work.
√ Consolidating our learning of time to the hour and half an hour.
√ Practising our Phonics on the I Pads.
√ Playing games related time and place value.
√ Team games in PE.
Family discussion questions:
- What make an animal a mammal?
- Can you draw the time that is one hour after half past 4?
- Fill in the gaps- M_s, loo_ ed, doi_g
Looking forward:
Next week, we will be making posters in pairs to warn others about the dangers of littering and sea pollution and the benefits of recycling and reusing.

On Thursday we have a whole day of Forest School Activities before our marble jar treat on our last day together.
