Y1 Friday 15th November 2019– Looking Back & Forth
Looking back:
This week we have written the story of Jack and the Beanstalk ensuring we include adjectives to make it more interesting. In Maths we have looked at fact families and writing these systematically.
In History, we have written facts about Tim Peake and consolidated our learning with a fact trading game.
Year 1 – Pupils’ Highlights:
√ writing Jack and the Beanstalk story.
√ writing our fact file about Tim Peake.
√ starting phase 5 sounds in phonics.
√ finding fact families in Maths.
√ practically finding pairs to 10.
Family discussion questions:
- What facts about Tim Peake can you remember?
- What pairs of numbers make 6?
- How many adjectives can you think of to describe a dog?
Looking forward:
Next week we will be editing and publishing our story of Jack and the Beanstalk and in Maths we will be looking at number bonds to 10.
In Geography we will be looking at towns, cities, villages and coastal settings.
