Y1 Friday 18th October 2019– Looking Back & Forth
Looking back:
This week we have published our Laika story and written lots of things for the exhibition.
As part of our Art and DT learning we have finished our moon buggies and rockets for the exhibition.
In History, we have learnt about the NASAs inventions since the moon landing.
Year 1 – Pupils’ Highlights:
√ balance and movement games in PE.
√ earning our marble jar treat.
√ making astronauts for our moon buggies.
√ doing our finishing touches to our rockets and moon buggies.
√ publishing our writing for exhibition.
√ performing our exhibition story and poem for Reception.
√ learning about NASA’s inventions since the moon landing.
Family discussion questions:
- Which part of Year 1’s exhibition work are you most proud of? Why?
- If you had to pack a bag to go to the moon what would you take? Why?
- What sense would you use your nose for? What is your favourite?
Looking forward:
Next week is exhibition week!! We will be taking part in lots of exciting things to celebrate ‘Inventions’. Alongside this, we are having a Maths and Science week; linked to place value and putting our senses to the test.
