Family discussion questions:
- What trees can you see in your garden or on a walk?
- Can you correct my spellings? ‘lighk’, ‘sed’ and ‘peeple’
- How many sharing circles would you need to find half of an amount? What about a quarter?
Looking forward:
Next week we will write our portal narrative story.
In Maths consolidate our topics on multiplication and division and fractions.
In D and T we will be making our sandwiches with some ingredients from plants and evaluating them.
We will also be learning about Queen Elizabeth II and the Jubilee - beore cmpelting crafts inspired by this on Thursday. On Friday, we are making kites with Y5 in the morning and flying them in the afternoon.
Reminders:
- I have put together a Phonics activity booklet- games, phoneme spotters, reading of real and fake words. I thought this would be something fun for the children to enjoy and to reinforce their Phonics learning.
- Our 14 day Reading Challenge has started again, so please write each time your child reads so they can earn 10 house points for their 14 consecutive reads. I will change books overnight on a Thursday
- Alongside the spelling and handwriting/Phonics homework, I have sent home Maths homework. This will be marked together so any misconceptions can be address. Please complete this in pencil.
- PE this half term is Friday- please wear PE kits on this day.
If you have any questions please ask.
Thanks again for your continued support.
Kind regards and take care
