Looking back:
This week we have edited and published our story of Jack and the Beanstalk and in Maths we looked at number bonds to 10.
In Geography, we have looked at towns, cities, villages and coastal settings. We have drawn trees in summer and autumn and compared them.
Year 1 – Pupils’ Highlights:
√ throwing and catching skills in PE.
√ doing our best handwriting when writing our Jack and the Beanstalk stories.
√ learning about towns, villages, coasts and cities.
√ drawing a tree in summer and autumn and comparing them.
√ using counters and tens frames to help us find pairs to 10.
Family discussion questions:
- What are the features of a village?
- 2 and 9 are a pair to 10. True or false? Explain.
- Can you use so to join two ideas?
Looking forward:
Next week we will be looking at the story of ‘Nibbles the Book Monster’ and the fairy tales he nibbles into.
In Maths, we will be learning different methods to help us when adding numbers together.
In Geography, we will be looking further exploring the characteristics and features of towns, cities, villages and coastal settings.
