Y1 Friday 27th September 2019– Looking Back & Forth
Looking back:
This week we have edited and published our writing about why are friends are so important to us. In Maths, we have counted forwards and backwards and solved problems related to this. We have continued to construct our moon buggies and collages for the exhibition.
Year 1 – Pupils’ Highlights:
√ Saying numbers and colours in French.
√ Constructing our moon buggies and collages for the exhibition.
√ Balancing skills in PE.
√ Counting forwards and backwards in Maths.
√ Writing about our friends and why they are special to us.
√ Doing our best handwriting when publishing this week.
√ Exploring the way our body moves and how we use it in Science.
Family discussion questions:
- I say 7 if I count backwards from 5. True or false? Why?
- Can you use because to explain why?
- What would you take to space if you were an astronaut?
Looking forward:
Next week we will be learning the story of Laika the astronaut from a story map and using this to write the story. We will continue to look at our body and senses in Science. In History we will continue to look at space exploration and continue to create collages for our exhibition work.
