Friday 24th March 2023 – Looking Back & Forth in Year 2
Looking back:
We have had another super week. In English we have begun writing Oliver and Patch, using noun phrases and powerful verbs to make the story interesting. Phonics focused on adverbs and how they change the meaning of a sentence. In maths we focused on arithmetic skills. In Science, the children explored food chains and discovered signs of Spring in the playground area. In reading we practised the skills needed to answer comprehension questions. In PE we have been active learning hockey skills. Another busy week with lots happening.

Homework
Reading – please read regularly with your child at home using the books sent in their reading folder, plus any books from home that they enjoy. Ask questions about what they have read.
Maths – Learn 2,5 and 10 times-tables. We will begin having a quiz after the Easter break
