Y3 Looking back and forth 11.12.20
Friday 11th December 2020 – Looking Back & Forth in Year 3
Looking back:
What a fantastic week we’ve had yet again! So busy working hard to finish all our work and we are particularly proud of our fables all about Morgan Mouse. We have learned more about the counties of the UK, impressed Mrs Sant with our reading, spelling and grammar quizzes, continued with our multiplication and division work, loved making our Science games using magnets, risen to the challenge in Arithmetic – trying to beat the ‘Bobby Dazzler’ questions and generally working really hard as always. Christmas Dinner was a treat this week and we would like to thank all of the kitchen staff for that and of course Christmas Jumper Day is always a winner!
Year 3 – Pupils’ Highlights:
- Science ~ because we started making our games with magnets
- Arithmetic lesson ~ Mrs Sant’s ‘Bobby Dazzler’ questions
- Publishing our English pieces
- Writing about Morgan Mouse
- PE ~ we liked the hoop game – tagging with the rugby ball
- Discussing the school rules, why they are important and which we value the most
- The Hueys and the New Jumper ~ designing our own jumpers and explaining why it’s good to be different
- Christmas Jumper Day!!
- Christmas Dinner…Yummy!
- Our question and answer session with Miss Atkins and Mrs Cowell
- Our assembly book ~ Teddy Christmas!
- Everything!
Family discussion questions:
Ask your children…
- Why is Louis Hamilton so impressive?
- Why are school rules important and which ones do we value the most?
- Who did we see playing with their very own Christmas treats this week? They loved the advent calendar and post box I recall?
Looking forward:
Next week in Class 3, we will be busy completing our artwork, completing our Geography work on rivers and mountains of the UK, sending off our leaflets to Emily Jayne Cummins, exploring the Christmas Story and the many versions available, taking the Top Ten Facts quiz in history, composing our own music, spending lots of time in our Christmas Shop and of course enjoying our pantomime ~ Peter Pan. What a Christmas week it will be!
Thank you for this week children and take care. I hope that you all have a lovely weekend,
Mrs Sant
