Y3 Looking Back and Forth 13/11/20
Friday 13th November 2020 – Looking Back & Forth in Year 3
Looking back:
What a great week we have had this week and a lovely end to it sharing in the fundraising for Children In Need. We have worked very hard to crack the addition and subtraction formal methods and are now achieving well. Just exchanges in subtraction to master now! The children’s completed history looks wonderful and their exploration of women inventors was very interesting – we loved their names. We made a great start to our final art piece and Science was great again – thank you Mrs Riddle. Finally, very well done to all our class for their efforts in TT Rockstars this week!
Year 3 – Pupils’ Highlights:
- Touch rugby with throwing and passing was great
- Science – we got to bring our cars in.
- Guessing the teachers’ children pictures
- Spending time with Miss Bairstow
- Enjoying learning new methods in maths
- Finishing writing the biography about George Stephenson
- Painting backgrounds in art for Ironman
- Learning our new book ‘Where the poppies now grow’
- And…everything!
Family discussion questions:
Ask your children…
- What is so inspirational about this week’s person of the week?
- What did Lady Mary Wortley Montagu invent and discover?
- What symbols did you design in RE on Friday?
Looking forward:
Next week in Class 3, we will be continuing with our art piece by adding in some collage, working hard to launch our work on Multiplication and Division, looking into our new text even further as we work towards writing our own fable, finding out more about the UK and starting to put together our leaflet about women inventors.
Thank you for this week children and take care. I hope that you all have a lovely weekend,
Mrs Sant
PS, here is an example for the Maths should you need it!
