Y3 Looking Back and Forth 14/1/22
Friday 14th January 2022 – Looking Back & Forth in Year 3
Looking back:
What a great week we’ve had usual this week. We have written our first short piece relating to the scene of ‘The Iron Man,’ we have practised dividing by two, five and ten in maths, we have tested the surfaces around the classroom with a torch in relation to shiny and dull in Science, we have begun to think about what we know about Great British Inventors in History, and have shown what we know about the United Kingdom in Geography by making our own model. Describing ourselves and others in French was really enjoyable and we began our dance topic in PE where we learned new moves and choreographed our own dance to include some of our own moves too.
Year 3 – Pupils’ Highlights:
? Music – practising with our own instruments to create a descriptive piece about the BIG FIVE
? Writing about the Iron Man
? Dividing in maths
? Working on the laptops to make our own guide
? Learn how to touch type using the dance mat program with Mrs Cooper
? Everything!
Family discussion questions:
Ask your children…
? How do Christians view Jesus and what are the three things we discussed?
? What do legato and staccato mean?
? What does tarnished mean?
Looking forward:
An incredibly busy week in school this week and we have loved it! Lots to look forward to next week too like creating our own music to describe the process of inventing, being introduced to lots of new inventors in history, stepping into the UK in geography, learning from the parable of Jesus in RE, learning more about e-safety in computing and continuing with light and shadows in Science.
Just a quick reminder that PE is on Tuesday and band with Mrs Hext will hopefully start week commencing 24th January 2022.
Have lovely restful weekend everyone and stay safe and well,
Mrs Sant
