Y3 Looking Back and Forth 22nd November 2019
Friday 22nd November 2019 – Looking Back & Forth in Year 3
Looking back:
We have been busy this week beginning our work on multiplication. We have explored the idea of lots of and groups of and how we can represent multiplication using pictorial methods. We have published our stories, concentrating on scene setting and character descriptions and have enjoyed the Roald Dahl stories. The children enjoyed their soil investigations this week too and discovered its properties. They have made a great start on their songs for our Christmas celebration and are looking forward to performing once again.
Year 3 – Pupils’ Highlights:
- I enjoyed mastering the Compact Method in Maths
- Computing
- Publishing our English which made me feel proud of myself
- Fish n Chips
- Times Tables
- Being with everyone
- Working with Mrs Fairhurst
- I loved getting my certificate
- Once again – everything!
Family discussion questions:
Ask your children…
- What is another way of describing X?
- What does soil consist of?
- What is one of the ways we use an apostrophe?
Looking forward:
Next week, we will be working hard to rehearse for our Christmas celebration and will begin to put our costumes together. We will continue to be influenced by the stories of Roald Dahl as we work on letter writing and will be practicing Times Tables to help us apply our multiplication skills. We will complete our Radial Clusters all about E-Saftey and learn how to compose safe passwords, alongside dance and indoor athletics!
