Y3 Looking Back and Forth 24/1/20

Friday 24th January 2020 – Looking Back & Forth in Year 3

Looking back:

A great week in class 3 this week. Lots of house points earned and certificates given out so a real positive finish – well done and thank you class. We have completed our work on Roman homes and the children have made a fabulous job of their published pieces! We have worked hard to complete our multiplication and division block of work and will now just keep those skills going each week. Some really high quality work has taken place today to record our findings about Roman music and I look forward to displaying their finished pieces next week. Swimming has gone really well again this week, as have all our subjects and we would like to thank our visiting agriculture experts, Mr & Mrs R Brown  for coming in to share his expertise with us.

Year 3 – Pupils’ Highlights:

  • Fish n Chips lunch
  • Reading Quizes
  • Enjoying all our successes in English this week and celebrating achievement.
  • TT Rockstars at lunch time.
  • Putting together our piece of work about music was like in Roman times.
  • Attending School Council and preparing to present to the school next week.
  • Our second swimming session.
  • Finding out more about Iliona from our class book – Roman Diary – The Journal of Iliona
  • Being with Mrs Sant
  • Once again – everything!

Family discussion questions:

Ask your children…

  • What are artefacts and what do they do?
  • What have they learned about magnets this week?
  • How did people from history listen to music?

Looking forward:

Next week promises to be a really uplifting week as we embark on our Pop Uk Singing Project!!! Thanks to Mrs Benson, we have a wonderful week planned as the children take part in their very own recording of a CD with them as the pop star! I am personally very much looking forward to this experience, having never been involved in this project before. Intermingled with this exciting work, we will be starting our new topic for English which I feel the children will love, beginning our work on money in maths and continuing to work hard on all of our other subjects too!
