Y3 w.e 17.5.19 Looking Back & Forth
Friday 17th May 2019 – Looking Back & Forth in Year 3
Looking back:
In English we have enjoyed watching clips from The Lion, The Witch and The Wardrobe as our inspiration for writing our own version of an imaginary world story. We have brainstormed vocabulary and planned ready for writing. Year 3 have been learning about angles and directional lines in maths this week and the afternoons have seen us learning about the Jewish Commandments in RE.
Year 3 – Pupils’ Highlights:
- I enjoyed Sunshine Singing because I like learning new songs!
- I enjoyed watching some of The Lion, The Witch and The Wardrobe because it is a really good story and it has inspired me to try to write my own.
- I enjoyed the Maths – Week 4 because all the timestables were challenging to do and I am looking forward to the 12 timestables next week!
- I liked how we had lots of time to swim because we changed quickly!
- Year 3’s Class Assembly was good because lots of parents were able to come and see how well we were doing in this year with our topic learning!
Family discussion questions:
- What are the different mathematical ways of describing a right angle?
- How can you recognise parallel lines?
- What simile can you think of that could describe the woodland in Narnia?
Looking forward:
Next week we will be writing about imaginary worlds! Happily, next week will be celebrating the finishing of our class Marble Jar with a class treat. The children have chosen to have a ‘games and electronics’ treat time, so look out for a letter in bags dated 17.5.19 for more details.
